IvyMay Today — Behind the Scenes

Meet the Team: Spring 2021 College Interns by Cynthia Gerringer

Spring 2021 interns Cynthia Gerringer, Ivy Moran, and Natalie Lahr inside the IvyMay greenhouse.

Having spent our fair share of time in college, we know how important internships are when applying classroom learning into real-world application. We are so thrilled to be able to contribute to the education and career development for those interested in different aspects of our business. We are pleased to introduce our three latest interns! -Thaimae

      • My favorite plant is the Ficus Audrey
      • My grandfather owned 100+ apple trees
      • I am great at car karaoke

Ivy will be helping out with creating light & fun ideas for both our Instagram & website, along with spreading mental health awareness & the positives of introducing plants into your home. Being a plant connoisseur herself, Ivy has managed to collect over 200 plants & even built her very own greenhouse cabinet. Graduating this term from San Diego State University, Ivy is sure to make her mark in the physical & digital world for plants & their owners!

      • My favorite plant is the String of Turtles

      • I treat my plants like they are pets

Cynthia will be creating some fun & informational blog posts, while helping out Ivy & Natalie as much as she can for content ideas on social media. Being a new plant mom, Cynthia is trying to grow her collection slowly & educating herself on the benefits of owning indoor plants, especially those for air quality. She is excited to learn how to utilize her green thumb to flourish her plants at home along with her time at IvyMay & Co.

      Natalie Lahr, Social Media Intern

      • My favorite plant is the Mini Monstera
      • I’ve been a blogger for almost 2 years
      • Coffee dates with my dog is my favorite past time

As a business marketing major with a knack for social media, it is no wonder why Natalie was chosen for an internship. Her ever-growing personal TikTok account allows her to understand social media trends, giving IvyMay an advantage in helping grow our online presence. Marketing is not the only thing Natalie brings to the table, she is also pursuing a minor in leadership.

We look forward to watching our interns grow into their skill sets! Keep an eye our for new blog posts, TikTok videos, and Instagram posts by our new interns.

IvyMay & Co. at the San Diego Vintage Collective Holiday Market
As some of you know, we had our first-ever in-person shopping experience on Sunday, December 6th was the San Diego Vintage Collective’s Outdoor Holiday Market! Despite the necessary social distancing & facemasks, there was such an amazing element of community that we have not been able to experience in so long. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us; you have no idea how much it means to us.
